Copyright investigations

We have acquired vast experience in this field many years ago through our investigation for film producing federations, whose movies were copied / screened in private screening. We have also investigated counterfeited clothes and shoes and export smuggling of citrus fruits (back then in Israel only one official body had a permit to do so). In all of these cases we were confronted with criminal elements with a vast criminal record that used every mean in their disposal, including violence, in order to thwart our investigation.

Copyright investigations Case Study:

In various street vendors’ stands in down town Haifa, there was a vibrant trade in counterfeit movies.

We mapped the stands according to the genre (children’s movies, adult, action, etc.) by going undercover as customers and filming the entire process of buying the counterfeit movies.

The owners of the copyrighted materials issued a court order against these bootleggers. Despite being escorted with a few “body guards”, a big street fight broke out and only when the police arrived was it finally stopped.

Despite the court order the vendors continued selling their products and we continued watching them until one day we noticed the delivery vehicle coming and unloading the “goods”. We trailed the vehicle and reached the warehouse where the counterfeit movies were stored.

We continued to watch the warehouse until we noticed the person who was bringing the counterfeit movies there and we followed him to the place where the counterfeit movies were actually produced.

This time around we arranged for a police force to escort the movie producers, who of course acquired the relevant court order, in order to confiscate the counterfeit movies, both at the warehouse and at the production facility.
